Sct Peders Youth Choir – Randers, Danimarca

Sct. Peders Ungdomskor, (Coro giovanile di San Pietro) viene da Randers in Danimarca. Il coro è stato fondato nel 1996 con il nome di Sct. Peders Drenge- og Pigekor (Coro dei ragazzi e delle ragazze di San Pietro). Sin dall’inizio, il coro è stato rinomato per la notevole qualità della musica. Nel 2004, il coro ha ricevuto il primo premio nel Concorso Nazionale per Cori a Voci Bianche, chiamato Sangerdyst fra kyst til kyst. Nel 2005, il coro ha preso parte al X Concorso Corale a Budapest ed ha ottenuto il diploma d’oro. Nel 2007 e 2009, il coro ha nuovamente ricevuto il Primo Premio al Concorso Nazionale per Cori a Voci Bianche. Nella primavera del 2011, il coro ha conquistato il diploma d’oro nel Young Prague e nel 2012 il secondo premio al Vratislavia Sacra per cori giovanili a voci pari. Determinati a migliorare le loro performance, hanno partecipato nuovamente nel 2015 ed hanno ricevuto il primo premio al Vratislavia Sacra per cori giovanili a voci pari.

Sct. Peders Ungdomskor, (Saint Peter’s Youth Choir Choir) comes from Randers in Denmark. The choir was established in 1996 under the name Sct. Peders Drenge- og Pigekor (Sct. Peder’s Boys and Girls Choir). From the very beginning, the choir was known for its remarkable musical quality. In 2004, they received the First Prize in the national competition for Danish Children’s Choirs called Sangerdyst fra kyst til kyst which translates to Competition for singers from coast to coast. In 2005, they took part in the 10th International Choir Competition in Budapest and received a gold diploma. In 2007 and 2009, they received the First Prize in the beforementioned Competition for singers from coast to coast for the second and third time. In the spring of 2011, they received a gold diploma in Young Prague and in 2012 the second prize at Vratislavia Sacra for equal voices youth choirs. Determined to improve their performance, they entered again in 2015 and received the first prize at Vratislavia Sacra for equal voices youth choirs.

 

Female Choir of the University of Latvia ‘Minjona’ – Riga, Lettonia

Il Coro Femminile Minjona dell’ Università della Lettonia è un coro amatoriale. E’ stato fondato nel 1975 da Viesturs Gailis, un professore dell’Accademia Musicale Lettone, uno dei più rinomati direttori del tempo in Lettonia. Il coro è formato da oltre 30 cantanti di ogni età (13-50). Fondato presso l’Università di Lettonia, da allora il coro non ha cambiato la sua sede. Dal 1990, il direttore del coro e direttore artistico è Romans Vanags, professore associato dell’Accademia Musicale Lettone Jazeps Vitols. Insieme a Romans Vanags, il coro ha vinto diversi premi prestigiosi in concorsi nazionali e internazionali. Il riconoscimento internazionale più recente è il Premio di Platino al I Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships a Guangzhou (China). Durante la partecipazione a festival corali internazionali e a concorsi, il Coro Minjona è sempre stato caldamente applaudito e omaggiato dai suoi ascoltatori. Il coro è da anni tra i TOP 3 cori femminili lettoni. Il Coro Minjona ha sempre partecipato al Festival Nazionale Lettone di Canto e Danza che si svolge ogni cinque anni e che li vede competere per il titolo di migliore coro nel Concorso dei Cori che si tiene durante il festival.

The Female Choir Minjona of the University of Latvia is an amateur choir. It was founded in 1975 by Viesturs Gailis, a professor of the Latvian Music Academy, one of the most acknowledged conductors at that time in Latvia. The choir usually consists of over 30 singers of all ages (13-50). Founded at the University of Latvia, the choir has not changed its location since then. Since 1990, the chief conductor and artistic director of the choir is Mr.Romans Vanags, associated professor of the Jazeps Vitols’ Latvian Music Academy. Together with Romans Vanags, the choir has won several prestigious awards at national and international competitions. The most recent international achievement to mention is the Platinum Award at the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships in Guangzhou (China). While participating in international choral festivals and competitions, Minjona has always been heartily welcomed and recognized by its listeners. At home, the choir has been among the TOP3 Latvian female choirs for years. Minjona is a permanent participant of the unique Latvian Nationwide Song and Dance Festival taking place in every five years and competing for the title of the best in the Battle of Choirs held during this festival.

 

Youth Choir Kallitexnimata – Atene, Grecia

Il Coro Giovanile “Kallitexnimata” (Artisti) è stato creato nel Giugno 2013. E’ formato da bambini e ragazzi tra gli 8 e il 17 anni. I partecipanti studiano canto corale secondo i metodi di educazione musicale di Kodaly & Orff. L’obiettivo del gruppo corale è diffondere la musica corale polifonica di qualità. Il gruppo partecipa ad eventi, festival e concorsi ricevendo apprezzamenti. Nel Giugno 2014 e ad Aprile 2016 il gruppo ha partecipato al I e II ‘Children’s Choir Festival Kallitexnimata” insieme a cori provenienti da tutta la Grecia. Da Gennaio 2015 è membro dell’Associazione Corale Greca. Il coro ha partecipato a diverse edizioni (XXIV nel 2014; XXV nel 2015; XXVI nel 2016) del Concorso Nazionale Corale organizzato dal CH.O.Y (Orchestra Giovanile Corale) sotto il patrocinio del “Ministero della Cultura e dello Sport”, ed ha vinto il primo premio grazie ad una performance straordinaria. Nell’ VIII Concorso Internazionale che è stato organizzato da Intercultur a Kalamata (2015), il coro ha vinto una medaglia di bronzo. Dal Luglio 2016 il gruppo è membro di Greek Property Choirs.

The Youth Choir “Kallitexnimata” (Artists) was created in January 2013. It consists of children 8-17 years old. The participants are trained in choral singing according to the basic principles of Kodaly & Orff musical education systems. The aim of the choral ensemble is to promote the quality, polyphonic choral music. The ensemble takes part in events, art festivals and competitions earning enthusiastic reviews. In June 2014 and in April 2016 the ensemble participated in the 1st and 2nd ‘Children’s Choir Festival Kallitexnimata” along with choirs from all over Greece. Since January 2015 it is a member of the Union of Choirs from all over Greece. In the 24th (2014), the 25th (2015) and the 26th (2016) National Choir Competition organized by the CH.O.Y (Choir Youth Orchestra) under the auspices of the “Ministry of Culture and Sport”, the ensemble won the first prize with outstanding performance. In the 8th International Contest which was organized by Intercultur in Kalamata (2015), they won the bronze award. From July 2016 the section is a member of Greek Property Choirs.

 

Female Choir Kallitexnimata – Atene, Grecia

Le coriste praticano canto corale seguendo I principi basilari dei metodi di educazione musicale di Kodaly & Orff. L’obiettivo del coro è la promozione della musica corale polifonica di qualità. Il gruppo corale prende parte a diversi eventi, festival e concorsi ricevendo recensioni entusiaste. Nel Giugno 2016 il gruppo corale è stato selezionato dall’UNESCO per rappresentare la Grecia al Concorso Corale Internazionale di Pitesti in Romania. Il coro femminile è membro dell’Associazione Corale Greca e membro di “Interkultur”, uno dei principali organizzatori mondiali di concorsi corali e festival internazionali.

The Female Choir “Kallitexnimata” (Artists) was created in September 2015. It consists of women above 18 years old. The participants practice choral singing under the basic principles of the Kodaly & Orff musical education systems. The aim of the choir is the promotion of quality, polyphonic choral music. The choral ensemble takes part in various events, art festivals and competitions earning enthusiastic reviews. In June 2016 the choral ensemble was selected by UNESCO to represent Greece at the International Choir Competition in Pitesti in Romania. The female choir is a member of the Greek Choir Union and a member of the world’s leading organizer of international choral competitions and festivals “Interkultur”.

 

Vikár Béla Kórus – Kaposvár, Ungheria

Il Coro Misto Béla Vikár di Kaposvár è stato fondato nel 1924 come Coro dei Lavoratori dell’Industria di Kaposvár. Nel 1962 il coro ha preso il nome di “Béla Vikár”, in omaggio al famoso etnografo e ricercatore di musica folk Ungherese. Dal 1964, Zsolt Zákányi ha diretto il coro e ricevuto i premi Ferenc Liszt e Leo Weiner per la sua attività. Nel 1968 il coro ha ricevuto il titolo di “Excellent Ensemble” e dal 1980 il coro ha preso parte a concorsi e festival internazionali ogni anno. Dal 2001 il coro è diretto da Géza Ludmány, che è docente all’Università di Kaposvár. Il coro esegue brani musicali di tutti i periodi della storia della musica, a cappella. Il coro considera di grande importanza eseguire regolarmente brani di Zoltán Kodály e Lajos Bárdos. Béla

Vikár Mixed Choir of Kaposvár was originally formed in 1924 as the Kaposvár Choir of Industry Workers. In 1962 the choir took the name “Béla Vikár”, from the famous Hungarian ethnographer and folksong collector. Since 1964, Zsolt Zákányi conducted the choir and received Ferenc Liszt and Leo Weiner awards for his activity. In 1968 the choir received the title “Excellent Ensemble” and since 1980 the choir has taken part in international competitions and festivals every year. Since 2001 the Choir is conducted by Géza Ludmány, who is a docent at the University of Kaposvár. The choir regularly presents musical works from all spheres of music history. They sing a cappella.The choir considers it of great importance to regularly perform pieces of Zoltán Kodály and Lajos Bárdos.

 

Ansgarskören – Gävle, Svezia

Ansgarskören (Il Coro Ansgar) è un coro femminile di Gävle, Svezia e canta nella Chiesa della Santa Trinità, Heliga Trefaldighet. Il gruppo è composto da 12 coriste suddivise in 6 soprani e 6 contralti distribuiti in 2,3 o 4 parti. Ha avuto origine 11 anni fa come coro misto ma dal 2009 è un coro di voci pari. Il direttore, Per Ahlberg, è nato a Sandviken ma è cresciuto a Stoccolma. Per Ahlberg si è laureato al Royal College of Music di Stoccolma ed ha studiato direzione corale tra il 1979-82 con i professori Eric Ericson e Jorma Panula. Dal 2007 lavora come musicista alla Chiesa Heliga Trefaldighet, di Gävle. Il coro ha eseguito: Missa Brevis – B Britten, Te Deum Laudamus – A Sacchini, O sing unto the Lord a new song – G F Händel, Missa brevis in D – W A Mozart, Requiem – G F Brusa, Stabat Mater – G Abos, Icke jag – Ch Hobrack, Salme 23 – K M Øhrn, Lavori di Michael e Joseph Hayden, J Rheinberger e C-B Agnestig. Ansgarskören (The Ansgar’s Choir) is a female voices choir from Gävle, Sweden and they sing in the church of the Holy Trinity, Heliga Trefaldighet. The choir consists of 12 ladies separated in 6 sopranos and 6 alto distributed in 2, 3 or 4 parts. It started out 11 years ago as a mixed choir but since 2009 it is an equal voices choir. The conductor, Per Ahlberg, was born in Sandviken but he grew up in Stockholm. Per Ahlberg has graduated from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and he studied conducting 1979-82 under professors Eric Ericson and Jorma Panula. Since 2007 he works as a church musician in Gävle at the church of the Heliga Trefaldighet. Choir “ALAID”, Children Music school №4, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskii, Russia

Il coro delle classi superiori della Scuola di Musica per bambini №4, “Alaid”, è formato da studenti di differenti ambiti: dipartimento corale, pianoforte, violino e chitarra. Il gruppo corale possiede un grande potenziale creativo. Partecipa attivamente a festival e concorsi con diversi livelli di abilità. Il coro ha ricevuto il primo premio due volte nel Concorso Corale Regionale “Spring Voices”. E’ anche arrivato terzo al Concorso Regionale All-Russian Choral Festival. I membri del coro organizzano attività educative e prendono parte in differenti manifestazioni cittadine e regionali su vari temi come il Festival Cristiano “Christ is born, fame him!”, “Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten”, “The town of the first dawn”. Il gruppo è membro del coro congiunto delle 500 voci di Kamchatka per la celebrazione che si svolge nella giornata della lingua e cultura slava. Il repertorio del coro include i più differenti generi e lavori stilistici: brani folk rivisitati, musica sacra Cattolica e Cristiana e anche musica classica Russa e di autori stranieri. Praticando il canto corale, i bambini della nostra scuola hanno la possibilità di fare esperienze, che permettono loro di acquisire competenze e professionalità che sono necessarie al raggiungimento dei traguardi che gli insegnanti hanno stabilito per loro. The choir of the older classes of the children’s musical school №4, “Alaid”, consists of students of different specialties: chorus department, piano, violin or guitar. The choral group possesses a great creative potential. The choral group possesses a great creative potential. It participates actively in festivals and competitions of different skill levels. The choir has received a first prize twice in the Regional choral contest “Spring Voices”. It has also arrived third in the regional contest All-Russian Choral Festival. The members of the choir organize educational activity and take part in different town and regional activities on various themes such as Christian festival “Christ is born, fame him!”, “Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten”, “The town of the first dawn”. The choir is a member of the 500-voice assembled choir of Kamchatka at the celebration of the Day of the Slavic written language and culture. The choir’s repertoire includes the most different genre and stylistic works: revisited folk songs, sacred catholic and Christian music as well as Russian and foreign classical music. Practicing choral singing, our children gain more experience, proficiency and professionalism that are necessary for achievement of the higher aims their preceptors lay down for their students.

MIRGO – Liepāja, Lettonia

Il Gruppo Vocale “MIRGO” arriva dalla città costiera di Liepāja nella splendida Lettonia. Il nome Mirgo è la traduzione dal Lettone di “sfarfallio”, “scintilla”. Allo stesso modo, il suono del gruppo mira alla brillantezza vocale, allo splendore del timbro e alla verve emozionale. Sebbene, in questa formazione “MIRGO” si è esibito solo da un anno, è stato già insignito con diplomi d’oro: European Choir Games a Riga (2017); Grand Prix nel Sacred Music Choral Festival a Kaunas (2018), Latvia. Vocal ensemble “MIRGO” comes from the seaside town Liepāja in beautiful Latvia. The name “MIRGO” is translated from Latvian as “flickers”, “scintillates”. Similarly, the sound of the ensemble aims for vocal brightness, tembral radiance and emotional verve. Although, in this formation “MIRGO” has only performed together for a year, it has already been awarded golden diplomas in the European Choir Games in Riga (2017) as well as the Grand Prix in the Sacred Music Choral Festival in Kaunas (2018), Latvia.

 

Choral studio “ANGARA” – Irkutsk, Russia

Il coro Angara è stato fondato nel 1968. Il coro prevede quattro livelli: gruppo di propedeutica, coro a voci bianche, gruppo giovanile e un ensemble per concerti. Il direttore è l’insegnante che si dedica alla formazione ed è anche collaboratore della Società Musicale Russa. In concerto il coro ha eseguito brani di D. Bortnyansky, P. Chesnokov, D. Pergolesi, M. Glinka, L. Beethoven, O. Hromushin, G. Struva ed elaborazioni di brani nazionali russi. Dal 2010 il coro ha partecipato a diverse competizioni corali nazionali e internazionali in Russia vincendo primi, secondi e terzi premi. Nel 2017il coro ha vinto il primo premio al Terzo Festival e Concorso Internazionale di Seoul (Corea del Sud). The choral studio Angara was created in 1968. The choral studio consists of four steps: preschool, younger school age, candidate groups and a concert collective. The head of the studio is the additional education teacher Otlichnik nationally educated, Honored worker of the All-Russian Musical Society. In concert the choir has performed works by D. Bortnyansky, P. Chesnokov, D. Pergolesi, M. Glinka, L. Beethoven, O. Hromushin, G. Struva and revisitations of Russian national songs. Since 2010 the choir has participated in several national and international choral competitions in Russia winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. In 2017 they won 1st prize in the III Edition of the International festival and competition in Seoul (South Korea).

 

CandoMini Choir – Helsinki, Finlandia

CandoMini Choir è stato fondato nel 2013 e durante i suoi 5 anni di attività si è evoluto da un piccolo gruppo di canto, in un coro di bambini pluripremiato. Circa 40 giovani musicisti di età compresa tra i 9 e i 17 anni cantano nel coro. CandoMini ha vinto due medaglie d’oro nel 2016 al festival del coro “Canta Al Mar” (categoria musica sacra e cori di voci bianche) e nel 2017 CandoMini ha ricevuto un premio speciale e una medaglia d’oro al “Tampere Vocal Festival”. Nel giugno 2018 CandoMini ha vinto il primo premio nel concorso internazionale di cori per bambini e giovani “Vocal Espoo”. CandoMini è stato fondato ed è diretto da Viena Kangas, che ha vinto il premio per il miglior direttore nel festival Canta Al Mar 2016. CandoMini Choir was founded in 2013 and during its 5 years it has evolved from a small singing group into a award-winning children’s choir. Around 40 young musicians between the ages of 9 to 17 sing in the choir. CandoMini won two gold medals in 2016 at “Canta Al Mar” choir festival (sacred music category and children and youth choirs category) and in 2017 CandoMini was awarded with special prize and one golden stamp at “Tampere Vocal Festival”. In June 2018 CandoMini won first price in the children and youth choirs international competition “Vocal Espoo”. CandoMini was founded and is conducted by Viena Kangas, who won the conductor price in Canta Al Mar festival 2016.

 

OBALCA KOPER – Koper, Slovenia

Il Coro Obalca è stato fondato a Capodistria nel 2001. Il repertorio del coro si è gradualmente aperto a differenti generi musicali, spaziando dal rinascimento alla musica contemporanea. Particolare attenzione è rivolta soprattutto ai compositori sloveni, con particolare riguardo ai giovani compositori del Litorale sloveno. Il coro Obalca ha partecipato a numerosi concorsi nazionali ed internazionali, ottenendo risultati importanti. Al concorso nazionale di Postumia il coro ha conseguito una medaglia d’oro (2006) e tre medaglie d’argento (2002, 2004 e 2013). Nel 2008 Obalca Koper ha partecipato al concorso internazionale a Olomouc nella Repubblica Ceca dove è stato premiato con una medaglia d’argento. La partecipazione a rassegne nazionali ed internazionali rientra fra le principali attività del coro, insieme a numerosi scambi culturali con cori sloveni e stranieri. Il coro Obalca si è esibito in diverse rassegne e festival all’estero: in Germania, Serbia, Bosnia Erzegovina, Austria, Repubblica Ceca e Italia. Nel giugno del 2016 ha partecipato al concorso internazionale Zlatna lipa in Croazia dove è stato premiato con una medaglia d’oro. Dal concorso internazionale corale Aurora Cantat 2017 il coro ha vinto due medaglie d’oro e il premio per il migliore direttore. The Choir Obalca was founded in Koper in 2001. The choir’s repertoire has gradually opened up to different musical genres, ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary music. Particular attention is paid especially to Slovenian composers, with particular regard to young composers from the Slovenian coast. The Obalca choir has participated in numerous national and international competitions obtaining important results. At the national competition of Postumia the choir won a gold medal (2006) and three silver medals (2002, 2004 and 2013). In 2008 Obalca Koper took part in the international competition in Olomouc in the Czech Republic, where it was awarded the silver medal. Participation in national and international exhibitions is one of the main activities of the choir together with numerous cultural exchanges with Slovenian and choirs from abroad. The Obalca choir has performed in various festivals abroad: in Germany, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy. In June 2016 they took part in the international competition Zlatna Lipa in Croatia where they were awarded the gold medal. From the choral international competition Aurora Cantat 2017 they returned with two golden medals and with the award for the best conductor.

 

Brummnet – Brunico, Italy

BrummNet è un coro maschile con sede a Brunico, in Alto Adige, Italia. Il coro è stato fondato nel 2003 come progetto della Scuola di Musica di Brunico; i suoi membri tutti studenti di canto della direttrice Clara Sattler. Il nome speciale di questo speciale coro maschile merita di essere brevemente spiegato.Nel dialetto altoatesino BrummNet significa Perchè no? ed è stata la risposta dialettale della direttrice del coro Clara Sattler alla richiesta di uno spettacolo. Ma Brumm net significa anche ‘non brontolare’ e suona come un invito agli uomini del coro a cantare ordinatamente, cioè con sonorità. All’inizio l’ensemble eseguiva soprattutto repertorio sacro. Il coro BrummNet durante la Messa canta con sincera onestà ed espressività al servizio della musica e della gente attraverso il canto puro. Il coro non è solo conosciuto per la musica sacra, ma anche per l’interpretazione unica della musica popolare sudtirolese e alpina. Il coro ha ricevuto l’attenzione internazionale con il suo programma classico nell’ottobre 2007 e nel novembre 2016 al “Gesamtiroler Wertungssingen”. Oltre al Premio del Pubblico, la giuria ha assegnato loro il punteggio più alto, esprimendo così che BrummNet è tra i migliori cori dell’Alto Adige. Un concorso e una tournée di concerti hanno portato il coro al primo Swiss Alpenchorfestival a Brigg (CH) nel 2008 e all’Austria Cantat a Feldkrich nel 2015. La discografia del coro è composta da due CD. Il primo con musica dell’ Alto Adige e l’altro con un programma misto. I cantanti provengono da una vasta regione dell’Alto Adige, e tutti sono professionisti: bancari, insegnanti, agricoltori, architetti, pensionati. Il coro si impegna offrire agli ascoltatori, ad ogni esibizione, un’esperienza profonda e sentita attraverso la voce cantata. Il coro è diretto da Clara Sattler, coadiuvata dal direttore Johann van der Sandt. BrummNet is a male choir with its base in Bruneck, South Tyrol, Italy. The choir started in 2003 as a project of the Music School, Bruneck with its members all voice students of the conductor Clara Sattler. The special name of this special male choir deserves to be explained briefly. “In the South Tyrolean dialect “BrummNet” stands for “Why not?” and was the dialectal answer of the choir’s director Clara Sattler to a request for a performance. “But “Brumm net” also means “don’t grumble” and reads like an announcement to the men in the choir to sing neatly, i.e. sonorously. From the beginning of the choir’s life a special focus of the ensemble was on sacred repertoire. BrummNet’s performances in sacred services is characterised by a heartfelt honesty and expressiveness serving the music and the people through their pure singing. It is not only sacred music that the choir is known for, but also the unique rendition of South Tyrolean and Alpine folk music. The choir received international attention with its classical program in October 2007 and November 2016 at the “Gesamtiroler Wertungssingen”. In addition to the Audience Award, the jury awarded them the highest marks, thus expressing that BrummNet is among the finest that the South Tyrolean choir world currently has to offer. A competition and concert tour led the choir to the first Swiss Alpenchorfestival in Brigg (CH) in 2008 and to Austria Cantat in Feldkrich (A) in 2015. The Choir’s discography consists of two CDs. The first one featuring South Tyrolean Advents music, and the second one is a portrait of the choir singing a mixed programme. The male singers come from a wide region in South Tyrol, and all from different professions, from bankers, teachers, farmers to architects and pensioners. The choir strives to serve choral music as an art and endeavors with each performance to give listeners a soundful and heartfelt experience through the medium of the sung voice. Currently the choir is conducted by Clara Sattler, assisted by Johann van der Sandt
